Buying Google's next flagship smartphone will cost more money. Google has confirmed that the upcoming Pixel 11 phone will be more expensive than last year's Pixel 10 model.
Shakil Barkat, Google’s Vice President of Devices and Services, explained that memory costs are rising fast across the tech industry. Huge demand for computer memory (RAM) in AI data centers has created a global supply shortage. Other major tech companies, including Apple, Nintendo, and Microsoft, have already raised their prices for similar reasons.
Google says it tried to keep prices low for consumers as long as possible. However, changing market economics forced the company to adjust prices for its upcoming devices.
The standard Pixel 11 is expected to start at $899. To offer extra value for the higher price, the base model will come with 256GB of storage instead of 128GB. Meanwhile, rumors suggest the higher-end Pixel 11 Pro might feature 12GB of memory instead of 16GB.
Google will officially unveil the new Pixel line on August 12th.
