Hollywood star Ryan Gosling is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ghost Rider, marking one of several major casting announcements unveiled during Comic-Con.
The standalone Ghost Rider movie will be directed by Shawn Levy, who recently directed Deadpool & Wolverine, and is scheduled to premiere in 2028. The news generated significant excitement among fans at the annual convention.
Director Ryan Coogler also appeared at the event to confirm that Black Panther III is set for release on December 15, 2028. He introduced actor David Jonsson as T'Challa's son, who will step into the role of the new Black Panther for the franchise.
During a presentation for Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel showcased a new trailer and treated attendees to an unexpected moment when Ryan Reynolds appeared in the audience as Deadpool. He asked directors Joe and Anthony Russo if his character could be included in the movie. Although the directors stated the film was largely completed, they suggested a brief appearance might still be possible. Additionally, Marvel confirmed that Hayley Atwell will return to her role as Peggy Carter.
