Sophia Laforteza, a member of the popular music group Katseye, is stepping away from the group to focus on her mental health. Her music label announced that doctors advised her to get extended rest and medical care so she can recover fully.
On Instagram, Laforteza shared that making this decision was not easy, but her health must come first. She promised her fans that she will work hard to heal properly and come back stronger. Doctors will reassess her condition in September.
Katseye was formed in 2023 with six members and received two Grammy nominations last year. For now, the group will continue scheduled events with four members. In February, another member, Bannerman, also took a temporary break to focus on her health. The group said they made this decision together after open and thoughtful conversations.
