American rapper Pitbull and his fans have set a new Guinness World Record in London. On Friday, 22,141 people gathered in Hyde Park wearing bald caps, white shirts, black ties, and aviator sunglasses to look like the star.
They set the record for the "largest gathering of people wearing bald caps." Even Pitbull himself had to wear a bald cap to count for the record, because he is already bald. An official adjudicator, Will Munford, confirmed the new record and presented Pitbull with a certificate before his performance.
The idea did not come from Pitbull or the record company. It started with a fan named Jack Remmington. He posted a funny video on TikTok suggesting that fans could break a world record by dressing up like Pitbull. The video went viral, and Pitbull agreed to the challenge.
Dressing up like Pitbull became popular in 2021 after fans shared videos on social media. Now, many people dress like him at his concerts. Pitbull calls his fans the "baldies" and sells official bald caps and kits on his website.
At the London concert, Pitbull thanked his fans. He said it was a blessing and an honor to see all the "baldies" in London.
