You can now use Google’s 3D emojis to create your own digital worlds, games, or memes.

To celebrate World Emoji Day, Google announced that it is sharing the files for its 3D emojis with the public for free. Anyone can now download the raw files to build virtual reality (VR) spaces, indie applications, or funny pictures.

Google first introduced these 3D emojis, called Noto Emoji 3D, in May. When they first appeared, some users were not sure if they liked the new look.

Designing 3D emojis is very different from drawing flat 2D pictures. The designers had to answer new questions. For example, they had to decide if a 3D smiley face should be a perfect round ball, a mask, or a flat disc.

be different from= 與……不同decide if= 決定是否……

By making the project open-source, Google is giving these designs to the global community of creators. People can now edit the emojis and use them in their own projects.
