If you use a Fitbit to track your daily steps or workouts, sharing that information with an iPhone just became much easier. Google has released an update that allows users to send their Fitbit health data directly into Apple Health.

With the new 5.05 update to the Google Health app, users can link their accounts in a few simple steps. By tapping their profile icon in the app, selecting "Partner apps," and choosing Apple Health, their workouts, steps, and vitals will sync automatically.

Before this update, the connection only worked in one direction. iPhone users could import Apple Health data into Google Health, but they could not send Google data back to Apple. To move their data, users had to rely on extra third-party apps or complicated workarounds.

Google Health officially replaced the original Fitbit app in May. The transition was not entirely smooth, as many users complained about the user interface and new artificial intelligence features. However, Google has been working to address those concerns and improve the overall app experience.

In addition to the Apple Health integration, Google introduced a new feature for users in the United States called Smart Health Links. This tool allows people to share their medical records with doctors or family members through a simple URL link or QR code. Users can choose exactly what information to share in the "Medical" section under the app's Health tab.
