More than one million people on LinkedIn have clicked a new button to report low-quality AI content.
LinkedIn introduced the feature, called "Seems like AI slop," in late July. Users can find the button in the three-dots menu on any post. Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan announced that over a million users have already clicked it to flag unwanted automated posts.
The feature arrived after a report showed that 41 percent of long posts on LinkedIn were created by AI tools. To fight this problem, LinkedIn updated its detection systems and removed a feature that helped users write posts with AI. According to Srinivasan, people are now seeing 40 percent fewer posts classified as AI slop.
LinkedIn is also starting to send private messages to users whose posts get flagged. The message tells them that some members thought their post sounded like AI. The company says the goal is to give helpful feedback to users so they can write more naturally.
