Travelers in Belgium and Germany can now ride fast trains directly to Belgium's largest airport. A German high-speed train arrived at Brussels Airport for the first time in more than ten years. The train station sits right under the airport terminal, so passengers can walk easily to their flights.
This new train service connects Cologne in Germany with Antwerp in Belgium. People can buy one ticket for both their train ride and their plane flight. This single ticket helps travelers move easily between train rides in Germany and flights to cities around the world, such as New York.
The trains run twice every day in both directions. Passengers who use these connected tickets also get help if their train or plane is delayed. More than 1,000 tickets have already been sold for this new travel option.

International high-speed rail service has returned to Brussels Airport after a break of more than ten years. A high-speed train operated by Germany's national railway arrived at Belgium's primary airport on September 7, connecting Cologne with Antwerp. The station is located directly below the airport terminal, allowing passengers to switch easily between rail and air transport.
This new connection comes from a partnership formed in February between Brussels Airlines and the German railway company Deutsche Bahn. Under the agreement, travelers starting their journeys in western Germany can book both their train ride and flight on a single ticket. This gives passengers direct access to over 180 international flight destinations from Brussels Airport.
The partnership offers two daily return train services and provides extra protection for passengers. If a delay causes a traveler to miss a connection, the system guarantees a replacement booking. The combined rail and flight service has already sold more than 1,000 tickets, with popular destinations including New York, Accra, and Alicante. Airport leaders hope this service will encourage more cross-border high-speed train connections across Europe in the future.
